The reasons are many; primarily, we feel that the re-homing rate for birds is very high, and we want to help find homes for those birds, and reduce the number of unwanted birds. We will continue to remain open to provide supplies, boarding services, and specialty veterinary care. Birdie Tip: If your bird is finicky about some foods, you may be able to convince your bird to try new foods by eating or pretending to eat the food in front of your bird. Make a big deal about how good it is and even offer some to someone else in front of your bird. It is likely that your bird does not realize what you are offering is food. By modeling for your bird, you may be able to get him or her to eat nearly anything. Bird Brain Information: Everyone knows how important calcium is for strong bones. Calcium is also very important for normal muscle contractions. With a diet deficient in calcium, and animal will even display siezure-like activity like falling from the perch or trembling and even convulsing.
